Paddy Pay Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App") and payment processing services (collectively, the "Services").

Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not download, register, or use our Services.

2. Information We Collect

To provide and improve our mobile Point of Sale (mPOS) services, we collect several types of information from and about our merchants:

A. Personal Identification Information

  • Account Details: Full name, email address, phone number, and physical business location.
  • KYC Documents: Verification details, including information from your Ghana Card (or other national identification document) and photos of the document for identity validation.

B. Financial and Settlement Information

  • Linked Accounts: Mobile Money wallet numbers (MTN, Telecel, AT) or commercial bank account details used for settlement payouts.
  • Transaction History: Detailed information about transactions processed through the App, including transaction amounts, times, dates, payment methods, and status.

C. Device and Usage Data

  • Technical Details: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address, and network information.
  • Hardware Capabilities: NFC reader capability status (required for contactless Tap-to-Pay features).
  • Location Data: Geographical location of the mobile device during transactions to prevent fraud and ensure regional compliance.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, and optimize our payment services, specifically to:

  • Verify your identity and authenticate your business registration (KYC compliance).
  • Process transactions and automate daily settlements to your Mobile Money wallet or bank account.
  • Generate and send digital invoices and transactional receipts to you and your customers.
  • Identify and prevent fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal transactions.
  • Provide customer support, manage inquiries, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Comply with local financial regulations, tax reporting, and anti-money laundering (AML) requirements in Ghana.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with third parties in the following circumstances:

  • Payment Partners: We share transaction information with licensed third-party payment aggregators, financial gateways (e.g., Paystack), and telecommunication partners (MTN, Telecel, AT) to process and settle payments.
  • Service Providers: We may share data with cloud hosting providers and identity verification services who perform services on our behalf.
  • Legal & Regulatory: We will disclose information if required to do so by Ghanaian law, or in response to subpoenas, court orders, or requests from regulatory authorities (e.g., Bank of Ghana).

5. Security of Your Data

We implement industry-standard physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your personal and transaction data.

All card payment operations are tokenized and encrypted according to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) guidelines. No cardholder credentials (such as card numbers or CVVs) are stored on your local device.

Please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal and transaction information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide you with Services.

We also retain and use your information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and satisfy statutory financial auditing requirements in Ghana.

7. Your Data Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under local data protection laws (such as the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012) including:

  • The right to request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • The right to request rectification or correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • The right to request deletion of your account and personal data (subject to regulatory retention requirements).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
